Storage Sweeper ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application.

Storage Sweeper is designed with privacy as a core principle. All photo and video processing happens entirely on your device. We do not upload, store, or access your photos, videos, or personal media content.

This policy describes what limited information we collect through analytics, what we do not collect, and how we protect your privacy.

Information We Collect

Storage Sweeper collects minimal, non-personal information to improve app functionality and user experience:

Analytics Data

We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data, including:

  • App usage patterns: Which features are used and how often
  • Device information: iOS version, device model, and app version
  • Performance metrics: App crashes, errors, and load times
  • General statistics: Session duration and frequency of use

This data is:

  • Aggregated and anonymized
  • Not linked to your identity
  • Not used for advertising or cross-app tracking
  • Used solely to improve app stability and features

App Preferences

The following information is stored locally on your device only:

  • App settings and preferences
  • Cleanup history statistics (e.g., space saved, number of photos deleted)
  • Language selection
  • Subscription status

Information We Do Not Collect

We explicitly DO NOT collect, access, upload, or store:

  • Photos or videos from your Photo Library
  • Photo metadata (location, date, camera information)
  • Personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
  • Precise location data
  • Contact information
  • Browsing history or web activity
  • Data from other apps
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
  • Any personally identifiable information

Photo Library Access

Storage Sweeper requires access to your Photo Library to perform its core functions:

Why We Need Access

  • Photo cleanup: To scan and identify similar or duplicate photos
  • Video compression: To analyze and compress large video files

How We Use Access

  • All photo and video analysis happens 100% on your device
  • Photos and videos are never uploaded to external servers
  • We never store copies of your media outside your device
  • Media processing uses Apple's on-device frameworks (Photos, AVFoundation, Vision)

Your Control

  • You can manage photo access permissions in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos
  • You can grant full access, limited access, or deny access at any time
  • Revoking access will prevent the app from functioning but will not affect previously processed data (all processing is local)

Analytics and Third-Party Services

Firebase Analytics

Storage Sweeper uses Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how users interact with the app.

What Firebase Analytics collects:

  • Anonymous usage statistics
  • Device and app version information
  • App performance data

What Firebase Analytics does NOT do:

  • Track you across other apps or websites
  • Serve personalized advertisements
  • Link analytics data to your identity
  • Collect photos, videos, or personal information

Data retention:

  • Firebase Analytics data is retained according to Google's data retention policies
  • You can reset your analytics identifier in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements

Data Processing and Storage

On-Device Processing

  • All photo similarity detection and video compression happens locally on your device
  • Processing uses Apple's native frameworks (Photos, AVFoundation, Vision)
  • No media content is transmitted over the internet

Local Storage

  • App preferences and statistics are stored locally using iOS UserDefaults
  • Temporary files created during video compression are stored in your device's temporary directory
  • All local data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app

Cloud Storage

  • We do not use cloud storage for your photos, videos, or personal data
  • Subscription status is managed through Apple's App Store and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy

Data Security

  • We implement industry-standard security practices
  • All network communication (analytics only) uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
  • We do not maintain servers that store your personal data

Children's Privacy

Storage Sweeper does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. Our app:

  • Does not require user registration or accounts
  • Does not collect personal information
  • Processes all data locally on the device

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete such information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons.

When we make changes:

  • The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy will be revised
  • Significant changes will be communicated through the app or App Store updates
